Over the past years, decades, whatever, customer service has changed. Maybe the world was a smaller place and people seem to treat others better if you think you'll see them again. It just seems that the standard in customer service is indifference, minimum effort and lack of interest.
It's so annoying and yet here I am in a position to make a difference with a store that could be renowned for superior care and attention and I'm starting to see why main stream shopping is so full of crappy customer service.
It's a huge amount of work.
I love my store, my customers and the culture that we're creating. Despite all of this it's still hard to give 100% all the time. I can look around at my little shop with a relatively small clientele and I could totally see the need for somebody to be hired to be dedicated 24/7 to customer service.
It might not be feasible right now, but it's probably a stellar idea to have so much emphasis on the potential relationships developing within Atlas Outfitters.
For now I'll just try my best spend as much time as possible in my customer's shoes.
